I brewed up the this posts version a couple years ago and it turned out great. This time around I decided to give your version a go this weekend and it’s happily bubbling away in the basement. I ended up using WLP013 London Ale yeast for my batch. I’ll keep you posted on how it turns out. Cheers.
Never got around to it. Tough getting in brew days with a toddler running around. Glad to hear your batch turned out good. I’ll keep this one on the wishlist. Cheers.
No worries! I appreciate the suggestion. If it seems too hoppy I could just dial it back if needed. I was looking to go for more of an American Brown. Thanks! :mug:
Kegged my 2nd try at this recipe after fermenting for 5 weeks. This time around I used WLP029 german ale/kolsch yeast and it turned out great. Much dryer (OG: 1.058 FG 1.009)and slightly less "fruity" flavor compared to last time with S-04. I think I'll stick with WLP029 for future batches. Cheers.
Resurrecting this one from the depths. Have you changed this much from your original recipe? Looking to brew a nice brown ale to be ready around thanksgiving. Cheers.
I did my first wet-hopped brew last year with my hops and it did have a little bit of that "veggie" flavor to it. I might still go for it on this one. Thanks for the response. :mug:
Brewed it up this past Saturday and hit 1.068 for my OG so it may not come out quite as high in the abv as I initially thought, but I'm okay with that.
