I just brew for the fun of it, no competitions, not trying to do anything other than have a few good brews on tap. I make more wine these days so I don't brew that often anymore and doubt I go back to brewing a lot. I've never really enjoyed all grain. For me it makes for a much longer day...
I moved to all grain several years ago and currently have a Spike Solo set-up which I'm sure it's overkill for extract brewing. Is there any reason you wouldn't use it for extract since I already have it? If so, is there a "best" extract set-up? I do prefer to make 10 gallon batches.
Installing a new tap and it has more threads than the one it's replacing causing some threads to still be exposed unlike before. Do they make different shanks and should I replace the shank also or is this ok?
Please bear with me. I don't have any hops so I was just going to order their HUB packs. My recipe called for (4+3) 7 HBUs at 60 minutes, I entered .7 ounces of 10% fictitious hop and scaled to my IBU and it gave me 1.2 ounces. So I need a total of 12 HBUs? If this isn't correct I think I'll...
So I've been brewing for a while with only half understanding what I've been doing. I've recently upgraded my hardware and embarrassing as it is to say I just started looking at efficiency. I was going to buy a kit from AIH but figured I would just enter the recipe into brewfather and scale it...
I've ordered a RO system and was going to order a little of all the basic "salts" I may need (assuming they won't go bad) and I'm slightly stumped.
I have Gypsum, Salt, Chalk, and Epsom salt in my cart now. What does the average brewer keep in stock?
My replacement grainfather showed up today, pretty impressed with their customer service. Unibrau never did reply to my email which I was surprised about. I'm going to keep watching the used market and hold out since I have this working again :) Cheers!
I haven't bought anything yet. I received an email from Grainfather that they are replacing my G30 under warranty so I'm going to try and make do for a bit longer. I'll be curious what you think of that Unibräu and just keep reading reviews until I turn blue. If I were ordering today I'd order...
I found this on the brewzilla 65l user group on FB.
"I just used the Spike lid on a brew this week. The 15 gal lid does not fit perfectly on the Brewzilla 65l. It only seats about 1/2 way. I communicated this to Spike and they had me run some tests with water to see if it would work anyway...
I have 4 tilts and always worry I’m going to knock em over when I’m not using them. I’d pay for 1 of these and shipping. Shoot me a message and let me know if you want to do that.
Does this affect your decision?
I'm struggling to pull the trigger, if I'm going to spend that amount of money I just wish I knew it was hands down the best I could get. Now I'm wondering if I should just buy a brewzilla / anvil, I can buy 3 of them for 1 of these if they crap out on me. Not...
