Hi I’m Mark, from Wellington NZ
I’ve been brewing for about 10 years.
First with extract but have moved on to all grain using SS Brew Tech kettle, camping gas burner, SS Brew Bucket and BrewInABag.
Now I use a Grainfather s40 for brewing as electricity is safer and more reliable (windy Wellington often blows the flames out when using gas).
I didn’t feel the need to get a Bluetooth brew vessel.
The only thing I don’t like about the s40 is the size. It’s too wide for a normal 23l brew so the grains don’t get fully submerged. And it’s not really feasible doing a double batch as there’s not enough headspace and power to get a nice rolling boil.
I love beers but really enjoy brewing.
I mostly make IPA, US style Pale Ale and occasionally Irish stout.
My favourite hop is citra and my favourite yeast is us05.
I generally use tap water but have a charcoal filter to remove chlorine.
Cleaning is my new hobby.
