I'd be interested in what you figure out as I'd like to do the exact same thing but not enough to mess with adding a probe.

I'm curious what the inside of these is like. Does it have a hollow where stuff can get caught like a standard ball valve? Or is it more like an encapsulated ball valve?

The drill will work. Stay away from the small motors for the Barley Crusher and similar. I could not get one to run my 3-roller Monster. I have no regrets on the big motor myself.

Monster sells a very similar, if not the same, motor that AAAW sold. Similar to what I recall paying as well.

Ah, OK, I misunderstood, you mean outbound connections to https not the web app itself.

Is there support for managing certs? Even better, for managing them programmatically? I use LetsEncrypt to generate a wildcard cert for all my internal services.
