    PP Rigid Duotight Joiners?

I have found hardware stores to carry 5/16" PP tubing which is fairly rigid, you an cut them down to the lengths you like. 5/16 is useable with the 8mm fittings.

How to mount temp probe for RIMS system?

A slow, mechanical relay based, on/off controller is way less than ideal. For most RIMS tube applications you want a cycle time around 1-2 seconds (as in when cycle time is 1 sec and the controller is calling for 50% you are on for 0.5sec, off for 0.5 sec) and that controller is not fast enough...

    Mash tun too big??

Just to clarify on this, for the 20g you will want a bigger heat mat than the one I have listed for the 10g. Before I had the heater deployed I found it essential to preheat the tun as it is a decently large thermal mass. I just would fill my my wife's electric tea kettle, get the water to a...

    Dual output RTD options

Multiple Element RTDs are a thing where you have multiple measuring elements in the same probe that can be hooked up to different devices if you want to go that route. But in my opinion the cheaper option would just be to introduce a second probe running a DS18B20 so that whatever you have...

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

Liquid nails and ratchet straps. My collar had a bit of warp to it and I held the collar down while the liquid nails was curing with ratchet straps. Once cured the collar stayed flat.

Anvil Brewing Pump XP - first impressions?

It looks like a center inlet version of this. https://www.morebeer.com/products/kegland-mkii-magnetic-drive-pump-inline-head-stainless-steel-5-gpm-25-watt.html

    Duotight ball disconnects - experiences?

Sorry for the double post. I did try that initially. However this fitting blew the tubing all the way out. I think i just fell into a bad range of tolerance stack between the eva barrier tubing and this particular fitting. Of the 5 disconnects I bought only one gave me grief. But it got clips on...

    Duotight ball disconnects - experiences?

Had a gathering the next day an no one was going to ship me the clips in time. However my printer can rattle off about 15 of these in 15 mins.

    APEX San Diego...WTF?

Pardon the late reply. It was my standard west coast IPA recipe. After the failed brew, I made the batch immediately again with a packet of S-05 and it worked flawlessly.

    Duotight ball disconnects - experiences?

I think these disconnects are fine. My biggest gripe with them is that they don't come with retaining clips from the factory. I lost a 20# CO2 tank and dumped a whole keg of seltzer into my keezer (carbstone dip tube). Because the tube popped out of the connector. So here is a printable clip for...

    ICEMASTER MAX 2

https://www.homebrewworks.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/STC-Instructions.pdf Your temp probe wires may be damaged and are reading an open circuit to the controller.

    Hops for pills

I liked what Sasquatch and a touch of citra did for me. Fruity, floral, with a smidge of herbal. That keg went way too fast.

    APEX San Diego...WTF?

It did not treat me well either. I used a satchet on a recipe where I normally use a single pack of s-05. Took forever to start and ended up as hot band aid water.

Are you interested in listing all the grain that went into it and amounts? Maybe we can riff off that?

875 watts enough for RIMS heat?

It really depends on how much insulation you have. I use an ssbrewtech mash tun with a custom silicone heater with an output of 500w. Because of the insulated mash tun I have no issue maintaining mash temp or raising temps.

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

The 2 big things I learned were 1) Seal the heck out of the thing. My initial build had really bad condensation issues and my second build has none. After you attach your collar, use HVAC tape to cover up everything from where the lid meets the collar to the transition from the collar to the...

RO Water - starting with lower pH

I truly understand your crusade on the listed temperature as this is something I stumbled over in another thread. I am working off the following byo article which lists both target pH at mash and room temp. Using the pH values I listed at mash temp has lead me to good efficiencies so take my...

SS Brewtech 1BBL Unitank - BEWARE!!

Higher delta pressure = greater volumetric flow. I use an 800gph pump to push sanitizer through my cfc. By the time it goes through everything the pressure drop reduces it to ~1gpm vs the rated ~13. This is why on larger industrial chillers you'll even see rotary vane pumps for increased...
