I inherited a 3V keggle system and I am seriously considering turning them into 10 gallon BIAB setups... Please keep us posted on your progress and findings. My thought is a BIAB with a false bottom a pump and a recirc system and a 5500w element to a single PID controller box....
I've been using this kitchen strainer since 2013 when I started brewing. It fits right in my kettle, and it even fits in a 10 gallon cooler. The sides take care of the bag trying to "spread out" and there is no mess when allowing the bag to drain or when squeezing the bag. Once it drains, I...
So I think you are exactly right.... I thought of that, and I think if I put an inline check valve into the line going to my trash can, that should eliminate that... Or I just have to wait to use the faucet until the trash can is full again.... Great suggestion, though...
So my overactive brain came up with this solution to constantly have ~20 gallons of RO water “on tap”. I took a Gray 20 gallon Rubbermaid Brute Trash Can (NSF 2,21 rated…. Meaning food safe) added a SS ball valve to the bottom, plumb a float valve at the top and just T off my water line going to...

So I have been researching Glycol Chillers and temp controlling coils inside the fermenters to more closely follow a specific fermentation schedule for each brew. At the moment, I have a dedicated stand up freezer that can actually fit up to 4 fermenters in it. But since different brews...
I enjoy taking my homebrew to our family functions and friends holiday parties. Most of them know that I brew beer, but they rarely get to taste it. It's always a good time to have them taste my brews and introduce them to the world of homebrewing!
Yes, InkBird has it's own app for it... It will allow you to monitor real time, and make changes to the settings, real time, but it doesn't allow you to set up a fermentation schedule, such as a diacetyl rest, or a cold crash.... And it doesn't allow you to log temps.... Also, you can only...
