I am selling some of my brewing equipment. I dont brew that much anymore. It takes a lot of time. I want to get into single pot BIAB with no sparge. I want to condense my time as much as possible. You can have everything for $500. There are also individual prices Kegs $35 each. $175 for all...
Here is what I have so far. I wasn't sure how much water to start off with to make sure I have 2.5 gallons going into my fermenter. I also wasnt sure if I needed to add extra grain to the bill for effiency loss. I have no intention of using a sparge.
Kevin Delange talked about his SS minnow...
Hello everyone,
It has been a long time since I have brewed beer. I have been condensing down my equipment and looking to shorten my brew day. I discovered BIAB and I like the idea of using one vessel. I had heard that it has a smoother malty and there is less tannin leaching. I love all of...
For those who live in MI or are lucky enough to find jolly pumpkin beers I was curious about a Bam Biere kind of clone. This recipe from NB

Sounds great but will this be sour or come out sour ? I love the bam because...
@pricelessbrewing. What's the name of the homebrewstore in Livonia?
Do they have Maris Otter ? Or a good English base malt ?

i have been there a lot. that is still not very cheap at all. I have seen some guys on brewing clubs order a pallet and it ended up coming to .60-.72 cents a pound. Thats a savings.
I emailed bells brewery. I know they do bulk, but I am awaiting on my email reply. Also a place in Ypsi does it...
I had a question about house strain yeast. I am assuming this is a yeast used by breweries that is used is most but not all of their beers like Bells Brewery in MI. They have their unique yeast and then have a couple other ones for there specialty beers?
The actual question is what is a good...
Hello,
My name is Andrew. I live around the Ann Arbor Area. I am originally from Genesee County. Does anyone know around either two areas how or where to purchase large bulk base malt grain? I am looking at 2 base malts to start. Maris Otter (or golden promise) and American pale malt.

I understand how to use the lactose. I would dissolve it in the hot coffee.
BUT as far as the coffee. How much is a typical or "standard" amount when added to a batch of beer?
Do people usually brew a pot?
or smaller batch and add instant coffee to concentrate it?
I made an extract oatmeal stout a while ago. The kit itself was old and I let in the keg after I brewed it for a while as well. I finally sampled it (kit sat 6 months to a year and sat in keg for 6 months) and its not great.
Dumping it would be like putting my dog down. So I was wondering if...
I just picked up the thermo works THERMA K PLUS. Probe was free! With probe attached accurate to 1 degree F. In a few weeks ill post pics of my mash setup.
Reliability is as important as accuracy if not more so... I guess I never thought about that. Personally, I can be anal retentive about accuracy readings and organizational things.
I like the Handheld ones because I plan on leaving just the probe submersed horizontally in my cooler and...
