TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Ah, but I do use MQTT--though I haven't noticed any problems with it as yet. OTOH, redoing the configuration isn't that big of a dea...

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Is there any way to upgrade to 1.2.2 and retain your configuration? Or do I need to just reconfigure after flashing?

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

With Brewfather, at least, this indicates that you've set the iSpindel to report in SG. Brewfather expects it to report in Plato.

What Size Pot for BIAB, 5 Gallons, 1.084?

I use a 15-gal kettle--plenty of room for 5 gallons of anything (and that's 5 gallons packaged--I aim for about 5.5 gal into the fermenter). I've only brewed one 10-gal batch, of an Oktoberfest with an OG of about 1.055, and I needed about a gallon and a half of top-up water after the mash.

What Size Pot for BIAB, 5 Gallons, 1.084?

My last beer was a Hazy DIPA with a OG of 1.087, and the total mash volume was a little over 10.5 gal. You could hold a couple of quarts of water out of the mash, but keep in mind you still need to be able to stir it. And, of course, the thicker you make the mash, the lower the efficiency will go.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Woohoo! Sounds like a great update; I'm looking forward to playing with it. I presume a similar one-line installer will be available as for the prior version. Will there be an upgrade path, or does that look more like "blow it away and reinstall"?

    145 + 5.5 gal "Vibe Check" Hazy DIPA = 150.5 gal.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I set it to Beer Profile. A Tilt Pro in the fermenting beer acts as the beer temp sensor, a 18B20 outside the fermenter but inside its insulation jacket is the "fridge" temp sensor, and another 18B20 in room air for room temp. And it works, kind of. There are probably ways of tuning out the...

    Home Brew Application

Brewfather user here. I'm also not a fan of subscription-based software, but I pay for BF, the main reasons being that it isn't that expensive and it works pretty darned well. I do not, as someone asked somewhat facetiously up-thread, need access to my recipes 24x7x365--but I do have different...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I'm not sure if this belongs here on in the Fermentrack thread, but it sounds to me more like here, so... Just finished up the beer that was my reason for trying Fermentrack/BrewPi-ESP, a Belgian Quad that called for ramping up 1°F/day from 68°F to 80°F. Since the weather's cooling off here...

How many of you would roll the dice on this year-old yeast?

I don't know that my opinion is well-informed enough to be worth considering, but I'd be thinking the same: if it doesn't smell "off," and a starter behaves as expected, go for it.

    Storage of whole hops?

That was fast! But makes sense. Into the freezer they go.
