    Bottle filling

It is more like a production line. The speed is not that important if I can get it automated.

    Bottle filling

But is it a sensor to measure the volume, or is it a timer that controls flow of liquid. Manually it is not a problem, but I am trying to make it automatic.

    Bottle filling

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how breweries fill their bottles? I meen if the filling is done by measuring the amount that goes into the bottles, or if it is done by some sort of timing to ensure the right amount is filled? I am trying to build an automated filler, but I am struggeling to...

    Bottle capper

Hi, I am planing on making a crown bottle capper, and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a capper head/die that releases the bottle after capping, so that the bottle ramains on the table and not get stuck in the head/die? 😊

    Straining yeast before washing

Thanks for the help guys, I'm only trying to get rid of most of the hops after dryhopping, and maybe som hot/cold break if possible. I know I can't get rid of the dead yeast cells, so what about autolysis, can that become an issue if I just strain it without washing? And what about oxidation.

    Straining yeast before washing

Hi, I was wondering if there will be any issues if I strain my yeast before I wash it. By that I mean if I can pour the yeast cake with all the trub through i strainer or something straight out of the fermenter into a sanitized "bucket" to get rid of most of the trub before I start washing like...

    Washing "old" yeast

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to wash a yeast that has been sitting in my fermenter under pressure for several months? It is only the yeast and trub that has been left in the fermenter after transfer, I have not bothered washing it yet and the temperature has been all over, but as I...

    Counterflow chiller

Hi. I have some questions for the smart ones out there I am building a counterflow chiller (all copper). The outer pipe is going to be 22mm. The tube from the chiller outlet to the fermenter is 12mm. My questions are, will it be best to use 12mm or 15mm pipe for the inner pipe of the chiller? I...

    Clogging the plate chiller

Yes, and I don’t do any of it because it does not help

    Clogging the plate chiller

I think maybe the biggest problem is that my diptube is to long, in a 170 liter boil kettle I only have about 2 liters left after cooling. And if I use a lot of hops it is no wonder my plate chiller glogges. I don’t use hop bags, spider or whirlpooling....

    Clogging the plate chiller

Thanks for the input. I have been thinking about boiling my hops in a separate pot and strain it straight into the fermenter, and then just boil my wort as I normaly do but without the hops. Any thoughts?
