I agree with the use of Nitrogen. I started using it with my 2nd batch, and have not stopped! I use it with all my beers, as it makes for a VERY nice creamy head. I started it with a stout, but let me tell ya, it's great with everything!
wow, you guys wait that long to drink your brews? I have up to one week in first, 1-2 in the secondary. 1 in the bottle/tap-a-draft, then it's time to drink! I suggest 2 weeks though... Does taste a bit green after only a week.
Oh my, yes I have WAY 2 much then. Each cartridge is 8 grams. The Tap-a-Draft uses 2. I am not going to prime anymore, cuzz I want to try out the Nitrogen that I just got. Thanks for the replies guys!
Hey gang. I am using a tap-a-draft at the moment. I have been using a primer before I bottle, then adding both the CO2's to the kit. I am thinking about NOT using a primer anymore, cuzz it's WAY fizzy. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Omg not drinking the draft are ya?! hehe Try out the Extra Stout, it's the only real store bought (other then S. Nevada Stout, yum!) I drink. GREAT bottles to use, for a 12 oz., and taste a whole lot better then the draft stuff. No widget to worry about as well...
Lol Beegee! Congrats on your beer man, I'm 1/2 way thru my first batch as well. I'm doing a second fermentation, and everything is looking cool. I can see what the book is talking about now, "relax don't worry, have a homebrew"! Never had so much fun!
Wow, thanks for the fast response! Ya, the room was a bit cool, so I moved it after I seen no more bubbles. Lid has a good seal. I have a 3 piece lock, and I don't see any movement at this point. I can see a ring of crud around the top. I guess this is a good sign? I was just a little freaked...
Hi all. I just started my first batch of stout 2 days ago. I am using a bucket with an airlock on the top to ferment. It started to bubble the morning after I pitched the dry ale yeast (the kind you get in a kit). It blew a bubble at a time, one about every 2 sec. The problem is now, it is doing...
