i'm cornfuzed in the extract batch did you really use 16 lbs of dme or is it just four?????? and what do you mean by "added at flame out"? is that when you let your grains steep or like a aroma hop at the very end???

i used to feed a little to both my dogs and mix it with wet food, but then one night we ran out of food and i just happend to be brewing ( and drinking) so i gave her all the grains from the pot and the next day when i was at work she yaked all over the floor! My wife was pissed......now no more...

how do you use them (ie. what type of beer etc.). i have never used any thing like pepper!
