The setup I'm building has a 3800w element for 5 gallons batches and it's over powered. I do have a PID, SSR, and RTD probe to remedy this though.
As a test a filled my boil kettle with 5 gallons of water at 70F. I went from that to boiling in 45 minutes.
I've been looking at buying this PID, SSR, and thermocouple combo along with a heat sink. I know the SSR is a little undersized for a 3800w element but it will get me by for now. My real question is whether or not the thermocouple could be used in my HLT/BK or if I should be looking at another...
