Help With More Haze For NEIPA Recipe

I tried an interesting trick on my last one. I took 1/2 lb of my Flaked Oats and ground them in a blender (added to mash). It’s a beautiful orange juice color.

Final Gravity for IPA - what is too high?

This is a cool post from the past to come back and discuss. NEIPA has been the sole style I have been brewing of late. Looking back at the posts on this style from years back, it would seem that the 1.012 final gravity range was everyone's target but my experience with the style tells me that...

    What are you drinking now?

Tough to beat those Veil NEIPAs!

Flavor Changes During Carbing Process (Keg)

I wanted to open up a open conversation in regards to how the flavor of your beer changes during the carbonation process. For example:/ I just brewed a NEIPA and like any brewer, struggle to keep my hands off of it. Of course, I pulled a tiny sample and tasted each day. I found that...

    Black neipa thoughts?

10 oz of hops likely wouldn’t be enough for a light NEIPA. That’s the only style I have been brewing of late trying to nail it. I just made one that still isn’t quite where I want it that had a full pound of hops. I’d think you’d want at least that to cut through the notes the lb of black...

    New England IPA

Update: this one is turning out quite nice. It’s not ready and isn’t fully carbonated in the keg yet but I just drank two glasses and thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait to see this one in a week.

    Brew Day! Another New England

Whew doggie, look at that OJ wort!

    Brew Day! Another New England

This is definitely an experiment in the style. I chose that British strain trying to be different knowing that it can accentuate malt character. I’m hoping it helps bring the oat notes through despite it being a good flocculator and not being super estery. Apollo and Summit combo is pretty...

    Brew Day! Another New England

I’m anxious too see the impact of grinding a half pound of Flaked Oats as well as the addition of a pound of flaked wheat. I noticed a lot more protein in the boil and the wort is considerably cloudier than the NEIPA I brewed two weeks ago where I didn’t have the wheat and ground oats. There...

    Brew Day! Another New England

Went a little brazen by going with tons of late Apollo & Summit. 13 lbs Pearl Malt 1.5 lbs Flaked Oats 0.5 lbs Ground Up Flaked Oats 1.0 lbs Flaked Wheat 0.25 lbs Carafoam .5 oz Columbus Mash Hop .5 oz Columbus X 60 2.00 oz Apollo X 5 2.00 oz Summit X 5 2.00 oz Apollo @ flameout 2.00 oz Summit...

    PSI in Keezer (cold tank)

It’s an IPA so I was looking for around 2.8. Temp is 42. I am keg carbing.

    PSI in Keezer (cold tank)

Thanks guys. Holding pat at 12 now. Curious how long it will take to be carbed enough to pour with a head? 3-4 days?

    PSI in Keezer (cold tank)

Quick question. I just put my first homebrew on my brand new keezer and this is completely new to me. I know that the gauges will read lower based upon my tank and regulator being inside the keezer. Where should I ideally have my regulator set? I currently set it at 12 (cold mind you). Any...

    New England IPA

Lighting was bad in that photo. It’s actually quite light. I don’t like to over boil either, that was just the hop flare up. [emoji51] Glad to hear that spring water has worked for you as I always go to Giant and buy spring water for my beers. I’ve been nervous that not making water...

    Way Too Long (NE DIPA)

I’m using WLP095 and I’ll tell you what, I pitched around 10:00 pm Saturday night, it was roaring in the am, and it looks like things are winding down at the 3 day mark. I’m a bit shocked at how quickly these English strains are tearing up wort!
