[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I started trying to get it packaged for distribution, but it turned into more hassle than I expected. I actually ended up writing my own very stripped down version that has just the features I need. For example, I really don't need keg inventory and found it quite cumbersome to have to manage...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Certainly. I was kind of hoping that the original developers were still maintaining it or had passed it along to somebody else that was active. I'll see about creating my own fork on github and getting it packaged correctly in the next few days.

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Lots of small things, but the biggest is adding support to display different containers/glassware for each beer in the gravity/color column. I ended up using SVG images to style on the fly for coloring instead of the overlay. I just realized this renders correctly in epiphany, which may help...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Yeah, it's the worst, except for all the others :) The project and documentation haven't been updated in years, so there's some drift to be expected. Is anybody actively maintaining the project? There are a bunch of forks on github with minor tweaks and I've spent a few hours adding some...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Check ~/.cache/lxsession/LXDE-pi/run.log for errors. On my setup, the browser executable is chromium-browser. I also had to use xset to disable DPMS. Here's the relevant data in my ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart: @chromium-browser --incognito --kiosk localhost @xset s off @xset...

    Dallas area suggestions

+1 Meddlesome Moth. I always stop there when I'm in the area.

    Separate Beta-Glucan Rest for Rye

My first batch had that slick or oily character too. The one with the beta-gluan rest isn't like that at all, but lots of other things in my process changed. I wish I could say more certainly that it was the beta-glucan rest that did it. Maybe your results will be more telling :)

    Separate Beta-Glucan Rest for Rye

Sounds reasonable to me. Amylase activity at 104 F shouldn't be significant enough to appreciably alter fermentabiltiy. FWIW, I've done 2 roggenbiers with 45% rye. The one without the beta-glucan rest was a nightmare in lautering and the one with ran beautifully. I brewed them on completely...

    Awesome Brew Day

I just had the best brew day in a long time and I have to share with a group that can appreciate :) I attempted my first roggenbier last spring and it was a total disaster. That mash would not run no matter what I tried and after hours of straining I ended up with the cloudiest most oily...

    AG Hefeweizen Question

I like my hefeweizen young too. The best way I've found to keep the flavor through the whole keg is to drink it really fast ;)

    Amps vs wattage question

Though quite unlikely, it could higher be than 120 volts. This is the upper bound at 25C. The lower bound is on the order of a few minutes[1]. Additionally, the breakers are tested in lab conditions, not inside panels with restricted airflow. Additional heat can be generated by nearby...

    Amps vs wattage question

Yeah, but the 2000W element could exceed the continuous load rating at nominal line voltage anyway. It may work fine forever, it may trip every brew day or something in between. It's too close. In my opinion, at least :)
