    Rusty Pot- CLR?

Actually I just found an alternative solution. I remember my mother using Coca-Cola to get rid of surface rust, so I poured a bunch in the pot and let it sit for about a half an hour. Went outside a few minutes ago, used my scrubby sponge, and voila! The rust is now gone!

    Rusty Pot- CLR?

Hi all- I have a new stainless steel pot that I have only done one batch through. Unfortunately I was a doofus when I cleaned up last time and must not have dried the pot well enough. I dumped extra bottle caps into the pot and a few other things for storage purposes, only to find that the...

    Closed-system pressurized fermentation technique!

This is quite interesting and gave me a thorough headache, lol. I am a severe newbie, but I grasp the concept and see how it would make things a heck of a lot easier. Awesome.

When to go from Primary to Secondary (If at all)

Just wanted to say that this thread is great. I am only on my second batch, but am certainly interested in getting a glass carboy at some point. Once that happens, I'll probably try racking into a secondary for s&g's. Thanks!

    Did I ruin my brew?

Good tips! My second brew (Irish Stout) is currently fermenting, but I will definitely grab some extra grommets when I go back to my LHBS to restock.

    First Labels!

I just started brewing, and my first batch is ready to be bottled tonight. My girlfriend has shown a little more interest than I expected, so when she told me she had a surprise I was intrigued!! Seems she was getting info about what I was brewing so that she could order some labels for me...

    New Maryland "Brewer"

Well I transferred the pail to the tub with cool water, and lo and behold the thing gradually started bubbling again. We are in for a hot week here, but the water temp in the tub is helping keep the pail at around 78 which I know is not optimal, but better than the 81-82 it was the day before...

Yep! Got lots of good info from Tom. A friend of mine that works at 4 corners liquors turned me his way. I actually live in the Dundalk/Essex area.

    New Maryland "Brewer"

thanks to everyone for the tips! I will move the pail to the tub with some cool water and hopefully that will help some. Now I am concerned because my airlock has stopped bubbling (as of this morning, but I didn't have long to check) and it has only really been a little over 1 day. Should I take...

    New Maryland "Brewer"

thanks for the welcome and the tip! I have a utility tub in by the washer that I could fill put water in and rest the fermentor in. do you think it'd be too late to do it now? I started fermenting late Saturday night. Can I put the bucket in now or would it shock the yeast?

    New Maryland "Brewer"

Hi All- New brewer and am on my first attempt as we speak. Just picked up my first kit on Saturday from The Thirsty Brewer in Baldwin, MD. I brewed that night and it now sits in my basement fermenting. I'm excited as this is my first go, but concerned because I think my basement is too...
