how to kill yeast after fermentation?

Ah yes I did read about freezing the fruit; I am glad I only did a 1/2 gallon. I will be doing another soon so I will try the freezing method next. I mainly did this for a yeast nutrient and got carried away with it. Thanks.

how to kill yeast after fermentation?

Good Post. I hope the OP don't mind be asking this on his thread, but I think it is related at least. I would like to ask your opinion on a fruit wine I currently have now in my primary. I made it with mainly apple/grape juice that you would buy as a juice drink (no preservative added) then I...

    best/cheapest places to buy 50lbs of 2-row?

Well until I find a place to buy in bulk I like the price and shipping fee's of Farmhouse so far they beat the total price of about 4 other places I looked at so far. I also like their hop selection.

what 38mm caps are best as far as a good seal?

Well I tested a few batches out now and those poly seal caps worked and boy they were tough to untwist the first time around! I did keep the carbonation low but so far so good.

Vienna Lager Sam Adams Boston Lager clone

I just did a small batch using 34/70 in a swamp cooler trying to keep temps under 60F and so far It is working. I am a huge SABL fan in fact its about the only beer I drink. But the batch of lager I am doing just uses 2-row and 40L, with some home grown fresh Tettnager and Hallertauer. I am...

My first Lager, temps and krausening and in what order?

Its nothing more than an experiment, fall weather is here and I thought why not give it a try. The carbonation by natural means though had me asking these specific questions.

My first Lager, temps and krausening and in what order?

Well I could bottle and cap to be safe; I guess I am wondering if carbonation can take place at 35 degrees? Or is there a process after the lager process when I need to raise the temps to 55 degrees in order to let fermentation do the carbonation?

My first Lager, temps and krausening and in what order?

Well I have some with swing tops and I have some with polyseal caps. So yeah I think these are called growlers.

My first Lager, temps and krausening and in what order?

I am a total newbie when it comes to doing a Lager so please keep this in mind! :fro: and thanks for reading! My question is after the initial 10 days of fermentation should I lager first then carbonate or carbonate first then lager? I am using Saflager W-34/70 yeast, and I have save 1/6 of the...

My crock pot micro brew test, using fresh whole cone hops!

I have done this two ways, one is putting all my grains and hops in cotton muslin bags in the mash, (other times I mash the grains first then filter into the muslin bag) then after the mash I place this bag on a flat 12" stainless steel type strainer over my boil pot and slowly pour 170 degree...

Vienna Lager Sam Adams Boston Lager clone

Nice! I will be interested in how the lager comes out. What were your hop details? Such as did you use pellets or leaf, were they German or USA? and did you use the same amounts as was originally posted?

what 38mm caps are best as far as a good seal?

I was going to add corn sugar, but maybe I will be keeping the amount recommended on the low side....this is new to me so not sure if it will work out.

what 38mm caps are best as far as a good seal?

Well, I got a few 1/2 gallon glass jugs on hand but no caps, so I need to buy some (38mm screw caps) to carbonate my home brew. I see they sell three types, metal, plastic, and polyseal. Any opinions on these?

My crock pot micro brew test, using fresh whole cone hops!

Just did my first taste test on one beer and its still a week premature but I could not resist. My first impressions are: Color is a light amber No head (sadly; but surprisingly a good beer) A little lace not much Skunk aroma kinda like an old time Heineken (as far as I can remember)...
