    Home brewing in Japan

For the coupler nut/stem, have you checked if your regulator is left or right hand thread? I know a lot are reverse threaded, so in trying to loosen it, you may have been tightening it. Just a thought. @deadwolfbones, sorry dude, this thread is a bit dead. I've never used the stuff, but maybe...

Secondary sugars affecting priming sugar calculations

Not really, there should be enough alcohol in the beer, and dry cereal is typically bagged and flushed with nitrogen in a clean environment, much like hop pellet bags. If not, if there were sugar consuming bugs on the cereal and even a little bit of moisture in the bag, contamination and...

    Can this beer be saved?

If it isnt too late, don't put it back in the bottling bucket, youll likely do more harm than good.

    Coffee Kiln Cascadian Dark Ale

Looks ok, but one little nit-pick. CDAs should NOT have notes of coffee or roast. It should be a beer that does not taste it's color, though a slight chocolate is acceptable. Therefore, Id use Carafa SP III (debittered), or just more chocolate. But as you'll add coffee, kinda defeats the...

The worst beer I have ever had in my life...

"Taiwan Beer" is seriously bad. Very very thin and cidery, especially the Gold Medal one. PRC macro beers tend to skew regionally, kinda like the old days in the US. The south gets mostly Tsing Tao, north you get various versions of Yanjing, and north east you mostly get Snow, which is even...

The worst beer I have ever had in my life...

Tsing-Tao is actually one of the better macro beers in China. I've had most, and some are so bad they make an MGD look good.

What was in my Chinese keg before I got it?

Yep, Mountain Dew or something like Sprite. If it says 百事 somewhere on the keg, it was definitely Pepsi/Mountain Dew. Soak overnight, disassembled with really hot water and oxyclean, replace all the gaskets and you should be fine.

Is There Any Issue Hooking Up A Spa Panel Like This?

She Who Must Be Obeyed Old guy slang. You also see some of the female posters here say HWMBO.

Deal on 4 Product Secondary Regulator at Beverage Factory

Hows this working out for you? Thinking about getting one, but heard they were generally junk.

    Northern Brewer

NB has been dead to me since the original owner sold it off. The last couple years they have been doing little more than rebranding crap off of Alibaba/AliExpress for the most part. When BrewingTV suddenly went all Chip and then completely gone with no real warning, I knew something was up...

Ping-Pong ball dry hop in keg?

careful with the dental floss idea. I lost a the remainder of a 5kg tank of CO2 due to the tiny leak floss lead to.

Lervig White Dog - What Yeast?

Came across this Norwegian Wit at my local beer shop. Quite a bit of yeast in the bottom and was wondering if anyone knew what strain they used? Figured if it was something interesting, it would be worth trying to build up and make a beer.

    Repitched failure to launch

Try the Brewer's Friend calculator. Northern Brewer's online calculators suck and are wildly inaccurate. When I started brewing I had all sorts of trouble getting fully carbonated bottles using their crappy priming sugar calculator and their refractometer calculator errs to the far far low side...

What would happen if I ate whirlfloc tablets?

You'd have a whole lot of hotbreak proteins and trub, uhh, *ahem* settle out

Oh also, cold brew coffee is pretty great on nitro

Types of beers for nitro dispensing

Anything British that would be served via a handpump would be fine or great on nitro. A good sessionable dark mild, for instance. If doing a UK pale or IPA, dry hop in the keg.

    Home brewing in Japan

@tektonjp Would it be possible to get Yeast Bay yeast in with your White Labs order? Their yeast is supplied by White Labs and it says on their site its possible to ship from both brands together. Want to try Sigmund's Voss Kviek yeast.

Large fine mesh laundry bags from Daiso or any other 100yen shop. Just make sure they are uncolored and clean them/do a super hot water soak before using. I have been using them for BIAB for a couple years now without issue and CHEAP!:rockin:

Chronical Fermenter by SS Brewing Technologies

Depending on how many dumps (of yeast/trub) you want to do, the best plan would be to go butterfly valve (open from the get go) -> Sight glass -> Elbow -> ball valve (closed). As the yeast and trub is more dense than the wort, it will settle out and displace the wort that might be in the...
