Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Coffee porter

I think I might try this in a month or so! I made a Coffee Porter recently, but it was just from a Brewer's Best Pumpkin Spice Porter. I just left the pumpkin spice out of it and only used Northern Brewer hops. I did use 8oz of whole coffee beans for 10 days. Used a Kenya Peaberry coffee...

Using ice to cool down wort

You might have better luck cooling the wort in an ice bath in the sink before adding the ice. Getting the temperature from 100 to 70 always seems to take longer for me than getting it from 200 to 100 degrees f. My last batch I topped off with 3 gallons of cold water from the fridge right...

What I did for beer today

Bottled my 3rd batch of Home brew, a coffee porter made from a Brewer's Best Pumpkin Spice Porter, without the pumpkin spice and instead dry hopped with whole coffee beans and 1oz of Northern Brewer for 10 days. Drank half a bottle that was left, nice coffee flavor on the back end of the beer...

    Light Lemonade Mead

Walmart didn't have the Minute Maid "premium" Lemonade, so I just grabbed 4 cans of the Walmart frozen lemonade. Checked online and it looks like they both have the same ingredient list. Edit - Have another question, no new posts so just adding it on here Does the yeast settle on the bottom...

    Soapy Taste

Thank god, I hope this is the issue with a beer I just brewed a few weeks ago. Made a Lemon Wheat beer that is mainly using Cascade hops, was searching Google to figure out WTF I did wrong. Looks like I might be okay after all. Has only been in the bottle a week, adding this to my brew diary lol.

Adding flavor to a wheat extract kit

While I didn't make it from an actual kit, I did make a lemon wheat beer a few weeks ago off a recipe I found in the recipe database. I haven't actually tasted it yet (just bottled it last week, so soon). Basically added 6 ounces of lemon juice with some lemon zest at about 15 minutes left in...

    Coffee Beers

I just had a 6 pack of a coffee beer from Goose Island that was a blonde. It was really good, very nice and strong coffee aroma and taste from the beer. Was almost off putting at first, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Also, I just added 8oz of whole coffee beans to a porter that I made a couple...

    forgot to boil sugar..

Indeed, get a bottling bucket! A nice bucket with a spigot. It will make bottling easier and help you get rid of the stuff on the bottom of your bucket that you don't want to put in a bottle.

    sg too low.

You have to mix the water and wort up or you're reading will be more top off water than wort. If you're brewing straight from a kit, it's pretty hard to actually miss the original gravity reading by that much.
