    Looking for a PS3 game

+1 Portal 2. My roomate and I played through the Co-Op in one eight hour sitting, but we had already played the first game and the single player portion of the second, so we were familiar with the format. It was one of the most satisfying multiple-player games I've played.

    Brats and beer

I usually use Budweiser for my beer brats. The price isn't too bad and it has a nice maltiness. After grilling, I toss the brats in a pot, add enough beer to cover them, a slice onion, and a bunch of fresh ground black pepper, then simmer for a couple hours.

    Best tasting carlo rossi?

My experiences with carlo rossi mostly involve lugging a jug around Kerouac style. Stay away from the reds if you plan on drinking the whole thing - worst hangover ever. IMHO the best thing you can do to any of them is dump a pint or two down the drain, add a ton of fruit and a dash of...

Do you wear bedroom slippers to the liqour store?

I live less than a block away from a 7-11, and I've snuck in for a late night tallboy with no shoes before.

What is a Lambic supposed to taste like?

All the Lindeman's fruit lambics are sweetened to the point of tasting like sour candy. Surprisingly though, their Rene Cuvee Gueze is actually pretty darn good.

3 weeks and still not finished!

I'm guessing you used an extract recipe? I remember I used to have a lot of trouble getting my gravity down where I wanted it when I started. As far as the airlock bubbling when you moved the fermenter, the agitation probably just knocked a bit of CO2 out of solution. Also, what kind of yeast...

    Should I pitch it?

Yeah, if you have the fermenter space, stuff it in some dark corner for a year and give it another try. Just remember to refill your airlock from time to time.

Sorry to post again! Just a question about auto-siphon!

If your tubing isn't a perfect match for the autosiphon, you can get some air sucked in. I use a worm-gear type hose clamp to get a good seal. It also helps to give the autosiphon a couple pumps to push all the air out of the tube before you just let it run.

Best and Worst zombie movie ever

Best zombie movie could go a lot of ways. The worst zombie flick I've ever seen was a musical called "Song of the Dead". Production values were sub-par, acting was wretched, but something about choreographed zombies made it impossible to look away.

    New pet peeve

I feel very affectionate towards the little fungi that make my wort into sweet, precious beer. As such, I'm all over "yeasties" like unicorn stickers on a twelve year old girl's notebook.

The Reliability Of People Wanting To Learn How To Brew

While a stovetop PM batch was cooling, a brew-guzzling friend who came over to watch asked "so when can we drink it?" When I told him it would be several weeks before it was ready to drink, he bailed.

    Oats in a light beer

To get the most out of the oats, you'll have to do partial mash or all grain. I do a golden ale with oats in it. If you wanted to do a PM oat beer, you could mash 2lb of six row with 2lb of flaked oats and 1lb of naked(unmalted but de-husked) oats. Oats have a lot of protein that can lead to...

Hows this for a Brew Kettle?

If you're going to do a vigorous full-volume boil and end with five gallons, you're going to have six to six and a half gallons pre-boil. That's not a lot of head space, especially with a fatty propane burner under the kettle. I have a ten gallon pot and usually start with about 7.5 gal to end...

Pouring into a wet glass or dry glass?

I've noticed this effect as well, though I have no idea what causes it. Magic? Elves? Magic Elves?

    My first PBR

If I'm not drinking homebrew, then there's a good 75% chance I'm drinking PBR. It doesn't wow you with flavor, but it drinks real well, and is perfect for washing down almost any meal. Of course, one of it's most prized quailities is the low, low price.
