Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

Finally got this one back into the brew schedule for a second time. I did the original recipe. Brew day went well so I'm expecting it will be as good or better than I remember. Thanks again for the recipe!! Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

Finally got this beer in the keg. This beer is soooo good!! if you are on the fence or have it on the schedule to brew later, you have to brew it now. This is one of the beers I have brewed that I would take over almost any commercial red/IRA beer I've tried (and i live in Portland, OR, home of...

Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

I finally brewed this up and so far so good. Smells great even so early in the game. I'm 10 days in. I just threw in the dry hops today. I did an OZ each of Simcoe, Amarillo and some homegrown Centennial instead of Cascade. I can't wait for this one. Perfect time of year for this style too...

    Two Tier Brew Rig Build!

I know this is a crusty old thread, but I like your system! Are you still brewing on it? I'm thinking of putting together something similar and wondered if you have ever felt the need for a grant? I have seen some guys with the same/similar set up and I don't think Ive seen anyone address...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

Hmmm...This link doesn't seem to go anywhere. Looks like it was updated recently though...Any assistance? I love the design and am looking forward to building something similar if not the same. Thats right I wanna bite it! =)

    Jamil's West Coast Blaster

I made this recently and have to say I havent been this happy with a beer I've made in a long while. This beer is along the same lines as Bear Republic's Red Rocket or maybe a slightly less malty True Believer from Ninkasi. Its delicious! If you are remotely considering making this beer, do it...

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Don't worry. It's probably just "green." I've done this recipe a couple times and have gotten a funky odor too. Not sure if it's the Nottingham yeast...It only lasted for a little bit and then fades away.

    Brew All Grain RIMS System

Hmmm... There are other threads on this forum and others that have RIMS plans for free. That being said, I don't think they give explicit info on where to get the parts or give close price estimates. That would be helpful. I'm not a tech savvy person so I would need plans to be idiot proof for...

    Brew All Grain RIMS System

Apparently this is not the most popular thread...I just stumbled on their website. Looks really cool but I cannot find any reviews. Anyone using this thing?

British Brown Ale Aberdeen Brown Ale (NewCastle Clone) AG

Just brewed this yesterday. This is only the 2nd recipe I've ever made twice. Hit all the numbers and all went well. Sure to be delicious again. Thanks for the recipe!!

St. Rogue Red Ale recipe critique

I brewed it. I kegged it and it's really good! I did end up going with willamette for the dry hops. I threw .5 oz in a stainless tea ball in the keg. It's a good beer. It has a nice balance and is very drinkable.

St. Rogue Red Ale recipe critique

I have been trying to use all left over hops for this one. Not sure what I want to dry hop with yet. I'm thinking Willamette since I have some. I just transferred it so I'll reply back with what I decide. The samples thus far are really good. Its gonna be super tasty when it's ready to go.

St. Rogue Red Ale recipe critique

I just brewed up a beer based upon the Rogue St. Red clone from BYO. The malt bill is almost the same but I subbed the pale for maris otter and the hops are a little different due to what I had on hand and the AA%. Malt 7 lbs Maris Otter 1.25 lb Crystal 40 1 lb Crystal 20 .5 lb Crystal 60 .5...

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

good to know. I usually leave my beers for 10 days to 2 weeks in primary but this one I got terrible efficiency and it ended up with a low start gravity and fermented out so fast! I have used Nottingham before but don't remember it fermenting out so quickly. The funk just caught me off guard. I...
