Ahhhh, success - how sweet it is!!!

Early this June I did my first brew session in 100 degree plus at my new house with a garage facing the east. I have always enjoyed my brew sessions but this was an exception. Not fun at all. I got very overheated by the time cleanup was done and swore I would not brew again until either the...

I would like to use a March Pump to pump from a kettle through a stainless racking cane. My question has to do with priming. If I have some water in the hose on the inlet side but have some air in the line, will it pull the air through and continue to pump or will it stall at the air in the...

    When to add fruit.

Following the beer method of adding fruit to the secondary after most fermentation is complete, I will be racking my mead onto the loquats tomorrow. Fermentation has slowed to a bubble every 30 seconds or so. In looking over Melomel recipes I see that most add fruit to the primary. Is there...

The Good, the Bad and the What?

I have just opened up my brewery at my newly remodeled house. It has been since last October since I brewed and that's way too long. It did give me a lot of time to dream up new concepts of brewing and try them today. The Good! I had this idea of putting a medium-fine screen, large kitchen...

Barley Crusher on a "V" Belt?

Just got my new Barley Crusher and it advises not to use a motor and a "V" belt drive. I presume this is because of the strain on the bushing. I would think that for my use of about once a month and not having the belt on too tight that it would last for many years. Am I wrong in my...

    Thermometer Woes - Long Post

    Post Removal Problem

I just got two kegs and one has a post I haven't seen on any instruction site.
