Just in case you guys are interested, I brewed this a week ago and just finished transferring it to my secondary. My housemates and I tried some and it is already everyone's favorite beer. It is very good, not very bitter, but It has a nice dry finish and has a coffee-like aftertaste. I can't...

    My new stout (own recipe)

Well, thank you everyone for all your help in my numerous recent posts. I decided to make up my own stout using my "homebrew formulator" program. I have always liked being creative so the idea of brewing someone else's kit/recipe hasn't interested me much. Well, here is my final recipe thats...

    Steeping grains

Well, I bought the ultra light liquid malt extract from morebeer.com. It was $49 for 25lbs and morebeer has free shipping (over $59). As for the "WME" I don't know if it's a real term, but I was referring to Wheat Malt extract fror the Dunkleweizen I'll be brewing shortly.

    Help with my Stout

well, when I pitched the second pack of yeast, the beer was starting to have a little white film on top. But the real reason I thought it was infected was that it sat for an entire day with no airlock and when I checked it out, a fly flew out. It was also starting to smell a little sour.

    Help with my Stout

well, thanks for all your help guys. Unfortunatly I finished brewing, checked the temp and pitched the yeast. After 2 days, I got nothing. So I called my LHBS and got a new pack of yeast. I poured it on top and left for Vegas for a weekend with my girlfriend. This time the yeast worked. I got a...

    Amazing new 'speed' brewing technique

It's less than $4 for costco's 6 gallon case of water. Works great. If you do your boil with 3gals tap water and add three gals bottled water to the fermentor, you'll get about 5 gals total volume and will only spend an extra $2 for water.

Thanks guys, I kegged it this afternoon and put the CO2 on at 20psi and shook it up. Took a taste this evening. It's not bad!! It needs some more time. Can't wait to try it in a few weeks! Also, I have a 5 lb. tank. My gauge says that they only filled it to about 900psi. Is that normal? Seems...
