    Sanitizing hibiscus for secondary?

I used the hibiscus to make a tea and then added the tea to secondary. Boiling the water first and then letting it cool down to tea making temp helps too. I didn't find that I necessarily had to sanitize it.

    Erlenmeyer Flask on Electric Burner

I am about to begin making my first starter. I have everything ready (the yeast is doing its thing in the smack pack), and am wondering if it is okay to set the flask I am using for my starter on an electric burner. Thoughts?

    Creating a recipe....steps??

A great place to get more information on recipe formulation and ingredient influences is the back episodes of the Jamil Show from the Brewing Network. You can also pick up Brewing Classic Styles from the BN website. I'm really new too, and the webshows have really helped me get a better grasp...

    First Brew Tastes Diltued

I just finished brewing my first batch, and although the process seemed to go as planned, the beer tastes diluted. I was hoping to get some suggestions on what would cause the lack of flavor. I brewed the American Wheat Ale extract kit from Northern Brewer. The only flag for me on the kit...
