    Dry Hopping a Lager

So I don't have an answer for you but I am waiting for more opinions on this as I tried dry hopping a czech pils 3 weeks into lagering(3 weeks after the diacetyl rest) and it sill pours cloudy. Going to have to use gelatin. A chill haze formed that wasn't there before the dry hop.

    Review: SSBrewTech Chronical 7Gal Fermenter

Maybe I missed it but what pressure are these rated to? Can I carbonate in one? And are the seals available on McMaster Carr? Will the ball valve allow for CIP or will I have to take it apart anyway?

    Brewing with 2 vessels?

A lot of breweries don't consider a hlt a "vessel" as all it does is heat water. Quite a few are using tankless water heaters. The more "vessels" you have, the higher number of consecutive brews you can have going on. Like mashing in the second brew into a dedicated mash tun while you have a...

Stuff that Costco has that I can ferment?

Some classmates of mine just did a safeway apple juice that had ascorbic acid(vit C) on the ingredients as a preservative. It fermented for three days with WLP-007 and was finished with Brett C. Finished at 1.001. Tastes delicious. Suprisingly well balanced. Not sweet, but not too dry or sour...

What I did for beer today

Last night spent three hours learning how to set up a Miller 350 LX weld machine and practiced running beads down some scrap stainless. End goal is kettle, conical, and brew stand welds of course. More practice this weekend.

Try to get a 12 inch grain bed. No more than 18 inches. Good utilization, easy to stir and still enough filtering.

Clone please: Calico Amber Ale from Ballast Point

I am going to brewing the cybi version next week as the label says they only use 4 malts, american hops. The og - fg -ibu's from BP are 1.054 - 1.011 - 35 so I am going to adjust for that. They also claim to use a proprietary house yeast from white labs that produces a fruity madiera-like...

Battle of the Homebrew Stores, Part II

I would love to have a local homebrew shop, but I am stationed in Japan. So I shop online with anyone who ships USPS. Which means mostly from Morebeer and Midwest, hops from Freshops, preferably flat rate. I would love to go through some of the online stores that carry wider varieties of malt I...
