    Northern Brewer Replacement

I mostly use Adventures in Brewing, they have two or three stores in Michigan and one in Texas.Been dealing with them for as long as I can remember. I was bottleing one night and the bottle capper I had wouldn't work, I called them and the owner answered and said he was closed. I told him my...

    Masterbuilt turkey fryer

If you are just looking for a brew pot and don't want to use a keg, look for a local resteraunt supplier. I bought my ten gallon pot at one and it was fairly cheap.

    Porter Recipe

I agree, no wheat, however I may upset the apple cart with oats. yes I use .5 lbs in my all grain for head retention and mouth feel. Other than that the crystal 40 and black with some chocolate and US56 ale yeast sounds good to me. I have a similar all grain recipe that just recently won out...

Where do you store your grain?

For about $16.99 each you can buy pet food containers that have a gasket in the lid to keep out air and moisture. They are monted on casters and hold a 55# bag of grain. I have stored for over a year with no problem. You can buy these at various mega marts look in th pet food dept. they cost...

    CO2 Bottle

WOW you guys are getting a bit of a price gouge or I'm real lucky. there's a welding supply shop down the road from my LHBS and they charge me either 8 or 10 dollars for my 15 # tank and they fill mine. I bought my tank new and I plan to use that one (I know where it's been). so look around CO2...

    3.2% in Colorado?

Most of these laws date back to the end of prohibition and the Gov protecting us. There are still people out there who think you shouldn't drink beer at all ( misguided souls to be sure) As stated earlier in Colorado you can only buy beer on Sun at the Grocery store and that is why they only...

    Maltmill vs. Crank vs. BarleyCrusher

I found my motor at a flea market and I think it came out of a furnace ( not sure but he had a bunch of that kind of stuff.) Looked like new and cost just $7.50 I bought an extension cord and wired it to a handy box with a switch. works great.

    Maltmill vs. Crank vs. BarleyCrusher

I too bought the Crankandstein CGM2A,Great mill. As for a hopper I used a 3 gal distilled water bottle ( plastic of course). Just drill a hole in the top plate and cut off the bottom of the bottle it will hold about 12 lbs and grinds it up fast enough fot me. You may get faster delivery...

    Shirron VS Counter Flow

First let me say I don't know if this is true or not but I think the Plate chiller will cool better. at least they are advertised to be better. I use a CFC now that I built from Phills Pieces. In the warmer months when the lake temps rise my counter flow just don't do the job. so for now I...

I think this is a great idea and I plan on trying it soon . Like some, I'm not sure about giving it to a recovering alcoholic . But I have a freind who for medical reasons can't drink anymore, but he used to brew his own also. He may enjoy this. Some of you have nixed the idea due to it bing...
