    Grolsch bottles

Bought 2 cases of the old 16oz Grolsch bottles from a buddy recently. I was needing to get some more, and like you know, they switched to the newer 15.2oz bottles. I was wondering if they are both equally as strong as the other, any pro's/cons between the 16 and 15.2? Can one withstand more...

Raspberry Melamel (Bronze Medal winner at 2010 Great Arizona Homebrew Competition)

I'm thinking of making a batch of this. I'm wondering if i should add the lemon and lime at the beginning of fermentation or after. I'm thinking the acidity might hurt the fermentation in some way. Would this matter?

Why do people like better bottles so much?

I understand the want to not use glass, but moving an ale-pale is so easy, why not use that?

Why do people like better bottles so much?

I got a couple recently and am using one currently as a primary. I like how light it is and all that but whenever I touch the thing it sucks in all the star-san thats in the airlock. Not a big deal but what if it's been sitting awhile, the solution in the air-lock could get nasty, dirt, fruit...

    Caramel Apple Mead

Just brewed this up tonight. Got an OG of 1.112. Added around 9.75lbs of clover honey cause that's all I could really afford. Hope the low OG won't hurt the desired taste. Thanks for the recipe!

    Chocolate Espresso Stout

Brewed this one up tonight. Added probably 12oz of chocolate during the last 5 minutes of the boil though. Will probably add in some lactose for the secondary and I throw in whatever espresso or coffee stuff in there. 2nd all grain brew for me, so I'm super excited. Thanks a lot for the recipe Tuck.

    Boil temperature make a difference?

Hey I just upgraded my equipment to all grain brewing which means I'll be brewing with propane now. When I was brewing before on my electric stove it seemed like the hottest it could get was around 212-215. Now that I can really control my temps a lot easier with the tank, I was wondering if it...

Just helped my GF make mead for the first time!

Never heard (or seen) of people boiling their fruits in the must. Is this a good thing? I've been told to get the most flavor out of your fruits or flavorings its best to add them after the initial fermentation.

attaching a garden hose to the "out" line of your wort chiller

Hey guys i just recently moved up to all grain brewing which means a brand new shiny 10 gallon stock pot and an outdoor burner. Set everything up today, burnt all the excess paint from the cooker and realized i need to find a way to dispose of my hot water which will be coming out of my wort...

What is your technique to transfer your cooled wort into your carboy?

I'll be using an autosiphon for my carboys for now on, at least until most of the liquid is transferred so that I can just funnel the rest (hops and all) in there. I could like to get rid of all my carboys and move to buckets though.
