Issues with STC-1000+ based BlackBoxBrew controller.

Hi all @wilconrad and @alphaomega,

I have a BlackBoxBrew controller from 2013-2014 and is starting to act weird. I was using the chest freezer as a second fridge during early covid and it was doing fine keeping a constant 40° and then in the last month it went up to 58.
I turned everything off and opened the chest freezer to defrost everything. I then set it back to 40 in P0 with SP0 at 40 and dh0 at 0 to put it back to 40. It never went down.
Today it was at 82 on the display. I have disconnected the freezer from the controller and plugged it directly into the wall. I have the controller on to watch the temp.

Is there something that could be tested in the BlackBoxBrew controller to see if there is a fault in the controller?

Generally, the sensor is the most likely point of failure.
I would obtain a replacement temperature sensor and see if that fixes the issue...
