Tasting Notes
Good raspberry flavor without being overwhelming. The tartness cuts the sweet a bit.
This is based on Jamil's sweet stout recipe. Raspberries were cheap while in season this year, so I decided to give it a go. I fermented it out and then racked onto three pounds of raspberries in secondary. Kegged and tasty as heck. If I did it again, I might sub out half of the black for roasted barley. It's a good blank slate for flavorings: I think next I might try it as a vanilla or coffee stout.
