Acerglyn is mead made with maple syrup or maple sap. Many recipes aim for about half of the fermentables to come from honey with the other half coming from maple syrup.

Maple syrup typically has a specific gravity between 1.320 and 1.370, which is slightly lighter than the typical gravities of honey: 1.400 to 1.450. As such, when creating recipes from other mead recipes by swapping maple syrup in for some of the honey, you need to use more maple syrup than the honey in the original recipe.
