Modern cider is most commonly served chilled in wine glasses. It may also be mulled with spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and peppercorns into a warm drink.

Traditionally, French cider is served in earthenware mugs resembling oversize widemouthed teacups.
