Definition: Star-San is a no-rinse foaming sanitizer manufactured by Five-Star Chemicals for use in the home brewing market. This chemical is considered ideal because the residue left in a fermenter or brewing equipment will break down into yeast food and be absorbed during fermentation. Star-San foams, so it is capable of getting into very small places and killing any possible bacterial causing infections.
