    Chapman 20gal Mash Tun Upgrade

I've got a smaller Chapman. The insulated wall makes for slightly odd fittings, likely metric. The pickup tube looks like this:

I'm so lost. HELLLP! Just upgraded from white buckets to 10+ gallon stainless system...

Crude guess: 1-3/4 cups, boiled in a pint or so of water, then cooled. Others' advice will likely have greater precision.

    Anchor closing?!

Anchor was inspirational for me as a beginning brewer in the early 80s. I'm glad to hear it's being revived.

    Multiple Concurrent Small Batch Brewing

With apologies to Willy the Shake: What's in a name? Four beers, by any other name, would taste as sweet. 4Brew

Advice on how to enjoy homebrewing over the years without becoming an alcoholic.

This strikes me as key, especially for folks prone to addictive behavior, genetically or otherwise. As my grandfather said about quitting smoking, "You gotta make your mind up." He put an unopened cig pack in front of himself at his work, and it just sat there. Moderate use requires one...

    Windows 11

"Serious" is a somewhat flexible term. The fact that MS now includes Arm64 in the Windows big tent confirms that "serious" computing is already possible with Arm -- even though not the blistering performance of high end x86-64 Intel and AMD machines (or Apple M[0-9] silicon). Surprisingly, my...

    Windows 11

What would Frank Zappa (or Nanook of the North) have to say about MS "spyware"? I think you've nailed it, @balrog . One presumes that, as with web browsing history, there will be a "clear" function. (this operation cannot be reversed). After all, they say, "You are in control with Recall."

    R.I.P. @Bracconiere

This was my main rationale for retiring earlier than planned. Not a choice for most (including Bracc, it seems). I feel very fortunate. Years ago I got a call from a friend whose husband had just retired. As they were preparing for their big post-retirement world travel, he became grievously...

Beer kits in a can…. Anyone else?

You bet! You can do almost anything with a kit that you can do all-grain except mashing, of course. Also can't subtract the hops and adjuncts/specialty malts. But you can add, and you can choose the yeast and manage fermentation, etc. Go for it!

Is it just me or are bottled conditioned Homebrew better than kegged?

^this!^ Super slow or inadequate carbonation (with hefty brews) was one of my biggest frustrations with bottle conditioning. Flat beer ain't really beer. Kegging eliminates this concern.

Is it just me or are bottled conditioned Homebrew better than kegged?

A tangent: a guy I used to sing with claimed that some beers are better drunk from the bottle, and others from a glass. No argument with anyone's perceptions, just saying it's subjective AF. Maybe less so for BJCP trainees and the like. For me, two of the "same" beers (two bottles from a...
