    Roasting Quaker Old Fashion Oats?

I would think toasting would actually attenuate fermentability as in general the darker the grain the less fermentable... Cheers!

    Spot the Space Station

I appreciate iterative design - and "fly it and see what happens" seat of the pants stuff (often just for public consumption) - and found this launch to be highly interesting from many aspects. Obviously there were improvements over prior launches, but just as clearly there's a long row to hoe...

Those look like Day Zero hoses from here! 😁

    Temp Controller With Schedule

Good find! Williams is at least as respectable as Morebeer and that price would be about right when including transport, etc... Cheers!

    Spot the Space Station

I would say, however, that there is a lot of work to do before this system is truly viable. Can't have primary flight controls burning like that, for instance  I expect many more test flights before anything remotely practical is done with it (probably a crapton of Starlink deployment...

    Temp Controller With Schedule

Morebeer is selling the MK II controller - for 75USD. Considering it sells in Australia for only 49AUD - which today is under 33USD - Morebeer is really flogging the customer. Too bad. At that price one might consider the Rapt Digital Temperature Controller which is on sale for 75USD (it's...

    Random Drunken Thoughts Thread

A belly button is really just a scar from getting into a knife fight with a masked person who just evicted you from your first home.

    Spot the Space Station

This video captures the highlights including stuff I didn't see in the live SpaceX feed - like the booster "soft touchdown" at sea, which is pretty cool...

The Dysfunctional-Palooza Obnoxious Masshole BS Thread

BB did the DFH deal awhile ago, so they're both under the same corporate umbrella. I can't imagine them being split now... [edit] It's looking more and more like corporate kite flying going on. Cheers!

    Plastic taste in beer

Are you on a municipal or commercial water supply that might be intermittently injecting low levels of chloramine - which allegedly works for both chlorine and chloramine? It might be revealing to do a batch using RO or DI water from the store...

    Roasting Quaker Old Fashion Oats?

I see references to oven "toasting" Quaker oats, spreading a shallow amount in cooking pans and putting them in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes... Cheers!

    Spot the Space Station

I'm assuming both booster and Starship ended up in the ocean - and the Starship engineers need a solution to burning up the control surfaces on re-entry

    What are you drinking now?

Over the last couple of years Galaxy became very sketchy and often is loaded with harsh polyphenols. I used to have a Galaxy-centric hazy on tap but since my last "known good" Galaxy hops ran out I've been apprehensive about brewing it again... Cheers!

    Anchor closing?!

If those are the two choices I suppose a sell-out is preferable to extinction. That said, the idea of "Sam Adams" being owned by any non-American corporation would be disappointing... Cheers!

    Chapman 20gal Mash Tun Upgrade

Lots of folks have mash tuns with similar rubber tubing. My first 10 gallon Rubbermaid did and I managed to never knock it loose. Never worried about breaking it as it was braided high temperature Tygon, not silicone. Might consider using that... Cheers!

    Chapman 20gal Mash Tun Upgrade

I believe @Bobby_M still offers custom SS dip tube production, I've been using one he did for me for years, all you need is a diagram. But, is it worth it? Only if it's easy to implement and deal with wrt disassembly for cleaning, etc. Otherwise there's no compelling reason to avoid the short...
