That was a welcomed hijack. This has been incredibly helpful, I just did my first starter on a stir plate and the lag time was greatly reduced when I pitched it. In fact i'm not sure how quick it took because I pitched at bedtime and it was bubbling away by morning. I plan on creating your mini...
Thank you all, thanks for the link to the sponsor stir plate, that looks perfect for my needs. I appreciate all the advice on here, Im excited to add a new gadget and some more yeast possibilities :ban:
Hey everyone, I am hoping to get into yeast harvesting and starters because its pretty pricey and im hoping to do some more smaller batches.
I currently have been doing a swirl when I walk by method in a growler. I do not have a flask/stir plate. I would like to start overbuilding my starter...

Just got my hops, they look fantastic and are packaged well. I'm pretty sure coming home to the box on the doorstep was the highlight of the month. I cannot wait till brew day, I will post a brew update. Highly recommend doing business with Kurt!
Great Kit, I believe its Deschutes fresh squeezed IPA clone. Tastes pretty close to it. I didn't make any adjustments to it and it turned out great. I did 2.5 weeks primary then dry hopped 6 days and it turned out great. I used US-05 without issue
Added a secondary regulator, dialed in the fan, and a rearrangement to the keezer. Now we have seltzer water and an fresh squished IPA on tap. Im sure this is similar to what kings felt like. Fermentation, bubbles, and beer does it get any better.
