to rule-out/in asphalt, what happens if you spill a small amount of gasoline or mineral spirits on it? Does the puddle take on a brown color? (I'm talking about a tablespoon, not a quart.)

Do you have a coffee pot that you could test with?

I don't have much trouble getting mine running without throwing the bar. Getting things centered seems to be the primary task. Could it be an unbalanced bar or uneven flask bottom? Another stir bar is a pretty cheap and useful item to have on hand anyhow.

Obviously not slices of red ghost. My Jalepenos and Habaneros have only just started to flower. They've still got a bunch of growing to do.

My Fortex Green Beans have broken the surface and I am looking forward to another year of those delicious heirloom beans!

I use a igloo cooler but even so I preheat to ~68 degrees. I mostly brew in the winter months so I'm mashing in the garage. Preheating in winter brings the vessel up to basement ambient and allows me to dial-in Beersmith as though I only brew in the basement which is much more temperature stable.

I think you're missing an opportunity. Did you consider bottling it and selling it as "Mineral Water"? :p

I just put three plants in this morning. Still looking for some Pink Brandywine but in case I don't find them I put in a German Queen plant. Haven't tried them before but I wanted to have another heirloom in case I can't find the pink Brandywine. Had great luck with them last season.

Somewhere on here there is a great quote about home brewers being able to find more things to worry about. If nothing else here is true, that sure is.

I have had this happen a couple times with NO ill-effect. Why can't you sample before bottling???? You can't undo it so sampling before bottling might save you some work if it isn't worth bottling.

Wholeheartedly agree. I've "owned" most all of the SW I use and quite satisfied with the arrangement.

The pay-once model does not exclude updates necessarily. That may just be the implementation that the vendor chose. Make no mistake, subscription model is profit driven.
