I find myself gravitating back to the basics.
Even though I have a refrigerator full of IPA’s, Stouts, Sours, Oktoberfests, Red Ales APA’s and everything in between - I find myself wanting to down a couple lighter Pilsners or Helles when I get home.
American use-it-up lager. Made from the extras bin. Sparged too hot, phenols. Tastes Belgian to me.
I've long suspected when you get a flight of beers at your local brewery, the one that says "Belgian" usually is their failure tank.
This one tastes just like that. Best to drink with food.....
I've harvested yeasts from commercial beers before, but this one has be baffled. The yeast on the left ended up with two different layers.
It was harvested from 6 Sierra Nevada pale ales, all sanitized and handled correctly and then grown on a stir plate in a sanitized erlenmeyer flask...
