    Gotta check the spelling. There's no e in Scotch whisky. In France bourbon comes from USA, whisky is European, even French whisky.

    What are you drinking now?

    I bought some French beers I like but a friend dropped by with a couple of bottles of 2015 locsl red wine, so the beer remains untouched. Then my wife cooked a chicken dish that requires half a cup of white wine so I opened this and we finished it on the porch after dinner.

    A system I used for several years was to use a number system with the ABV. I picked a number, usually around 18. I could drink 3 6% beers, or 2 8%, as long as the number stayed around 18.     It's dinner time in France, we ate vegetarian tonight, but only because my wife's vegetable soup and the plate of white asparagus was enough to fill us up. But I did open a bottle I picked up at a Bordeaux wine fest last month,perfect for our cheese plate.
