    Sourcing honey...

My local whole foods has a bulk section where you can pour out whatever amount of honey you want, they have a local honey and then a few different flavors of honey. Is this a good option or would a packaged bottle be better to know its clean? The price of the local honey per pound seems cheaper...

    CO2 Fill up in Cleveland

I'm looking to get my CO2 tank filled up for the first time on the east side of Cleveland, near Cleveland Heights more specifically. Does anyone have a go to spot that is relatively cheap? I've heard that Airgas will do it but they rip people off sometimes. I know Grape and Granary in Akron...

    Is it contaminated?

I brewed a NB Chocolate Milk Stout 3 weeks ago, and I went to check the gravity today and saw this when I opened the primary. I've done about 6 batches to date, and I've never seen this after 3 weeks. Usually it's all cleared out. I used Wyeast 1332, and it fermented around 58-60F. Was this...

Will cocoa nibs kick fermentation back up?

I'm doing a chocolate peanut butter stout, and have had the stout sitting on the peanut butter powder in the secondary for about a month. It has been about 2 months since brewing. I added cocoa nibs this past Sunday, and noticed the air lock started bubbling again on Monday, and has not stopped...

Help finishing an all Citra IPA recipe

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm basically trying to accomplish a hop bomb for the summer that is pretty drinkable and not to crazy in ABV. Hoping to stay around 6%.

Help finishing an all Citra IPA recipe

Hey guys, I've decided that I'm going to venture away from a kit for the first time and try and make my own all Citra IPA. I've decided that I'm going to use 7# of extra light DME. I'm going to do the following hop schedule: 1oz Citra at 60 min 1oz Citra at 15 min 1oz Citra at 10 min...

    Just brewed my first batch!

So in the process of getting ready to bottle today, I realized that Northern Brewer forgot to add the inside piece of the auto siphon to my kit :( Not a very happy camper right now. I don't really want to mouth siphon anything, especially since I don't even have a piece of tubing that would be...

    Just brewed my first batch!

I just checked the FG last night and it looks like I'm at about 1.008, I'm going to check again on Wednesday and if there hasn't been any change, it will be time to bottle!

    Just brewed my first batch!

So it's been about a week since I put my beer in the primary. When should I start testing for the final gravity? Around 2 weeks?

    Just brewed my first batch!

Thanks all for the replies, makes me feel better! I moved it to the cooler closet this morning. I noticed that it was not bubbling any more, and the liquid in the S lock had evened out. I take it that means there is no more gas being produced, is that bad? Or are the yeast still doing their...

    Just brewed my first batch!

Thank you! I wasn't sure if I should try and move it back to the cooler closet or just leave it where it is.
