- Smells strongly like mango\passionfruit with a very light body, dry and refreshing citrusy flavor. Simply amazing.
Hey eveybody,
I made this recipe up trying to clone a Luma (a dry hopped carlsberg) using ale yeast. I ended up getting a different beer, but everybody who had it says its amazing.
Ingredients:
------------
Amount Item Type % or IBU
0.2 lb carapils
0.2 lb crystal 10l
5.50 lb Extra light dry extract (i used muntons)
0.5lb table sugar
1.00 oz Hallertauer 5.7%
5g Alpha Amylase
1 Pkgs US-05
1.00 oz Citra - dry hop
1.00 oz Centennial - dry hop
Instructions:
------------
Steep grains for 20 minutes at ~69 C
Bring to boil
Add extra light dme
Add hops (50 minutes boil)
Add table sugar (boil only 15m)
Dry hop for 4 days before packaging
Basically, just time your boil duration to get to 15-17 IBU. I dont see a need for more IBU's for this one. With about ~6% ABV, this is still an amazingly easy drinking beer. The hops character is so strong with such a light bodied beer, it overpowers and gives a great flavor. I dont control ferm temp and bottle condition.
I fined with irish moss and gelatin (didnt cold crash, bottle conditioned for 12 days).
