Howdy Ya'll,

I am a beer brewer of 12 years, just got my self set up in a Basement brewery,
And i was looking for other ideas - things to cook up in my Meth Lab :D

I was looking at Kombucha and doing some Cold brew Coffee

And i was wondering if You brewers of the Kombucha have any special
sanitation processes ??

Since i brew beer with Yeast, and the Mother is 'biological' organism of its own self.....

Should i be concerned about contaminating my beer ?? or vice versa ?

Thanks
S

My practice has just to keep equipment seperate. When i clean out my continuous brewing bucket, i make sure to really clean my sink and then sanitize with star san. It's been working for almost a year now, no issues.

I am 100% kombucha and shy away from any thing that may sterilize or be anti bacterial for my equipment. I keep it clean and use white vinegar at times to avoid mold. I used to work for a brewery that also made kombucha and they kept the two totally separate. I would be more concerned with the kombucha contaminating the beer

That was my concern as well...

I enjoy the taste of Kombucha, my wife does not - so that plays into my plan

And i don't want to risk my Beer, for something secondary in nature

My wine & mead making, don't really put risk on the beer - as they are Yeast

But that SCOBY is a whole nother story !

Thanks
