No, the crook is out of business.

You know you're a home brewer when?

The highlight of your day is pouring a beer that was chill hazed yesterday, and finding it completely cleared today.

A few questions about properly measuring volume

I get what he's asking here since I've wondered the same thing. If you use 5.5 aren't you skewing the efficiency calculations since beersmith doesn't know that 1/2 gallon is trub, it assumes it's wort.

What came in the mail for you today?

Normally I don't mind if she sees deliveries but her seeing more kegs will no doubt spark the "how much more beer do you really need?" question. It's just better this way :)

What came in the mail for you today?

Ordered two more kegs and some fittings. Wasn't expecting them till midweek but decided to check the tracking anyway. Turns out they have been delivered today so now I have to race home and grab them before the wife sees yet another delivery. Haha

    weekday brew session.

Week days brews are quickly becoming my normal time to brew, in fact I've started taking extended lunch breaks to brew. I go to work in the morning to get the guys going, home and firing up the strike water by 10:00 am, done and cleaned up by 1:30 and back to work.

British Brown Ale New Castle Clone - Accidental

You know you're a brew nerd when - You walk around the house with a remote temperature sensor telling you what the temperature of your fermenting wort is - it's bubbling away right now.

British Brown Ale New Castle Clone - Accidental

Just brewed this yesterday using BIAB. I used 9 lbs of MO since midwest only sells by the pound so I just left the extra half pound in there. Still trying to dial in my system so I ended up with 5.75 gallons into the fermenter with a OG of 1.052, pitched two packets of the wyeast london ESB. My...

What I did for beer today

Well here's what beer did for me today. It ate my temperature probe :) Right now it's sitting at the bottom of my mash.

The only thing better than watching a bubbling airlock is smelling a bubbling airlock!

Dumped it [emoji36] 14 month of conditioning and off flavor still overwhelming.

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Mine is about a month old now and tastes great, only observation is that the bread-like flavor from the vienna malt is much less prevalent than the first time I brewed this. Not sure why but that vienna malt flavor is why I love this beer so much. I did mash it at 154 this time (first BIAB and...

    Mash temp started 170

As long as you had a fun and relaxing brew day, that's all that counts. If at the end you get good beer, that's just a little bonus.

    Why do you home brew?

Because I suck at cooking and this is the closest thing to it that I don't suck at
