    Fruit flavored extract beer

will the extract affect the S.G. of the end result? I added the extract after the boil (4oz) and its settled at about 1.018 (supposed to be 1.012-1.014).

    white foam on the top

Nope, definitely not bubbles, looks like very thin layer of sediment. I swirled it a bit in the carboy and theres some paste-like residue on the glass. Uh oh. Still smells good though!

    Sanitizers

I try and touch everything as much as possible, then sneeze into my carboys. I use the syphon tubing as a drinking straw and clean my toilet with the syphon cane. I also like to brew the beer in my laundry bucket.... never had a problem. :D

    Boilermakers

Heres a thought; The boiler maker is adding shot of whiskey to a beer. Would there be a way to incorporate that in the brew process? Maybe adding it in the secodnary, or before bottling?

    Paper Clip Brew

Hi, I was brewing tonight and I use a paperclip to hold the funnel off the rim of the carboy so the air can escape... anyway the damn thing (paperclip) fell into the brew. Should I bother fishing for it or leave it there for the week until I rack to 2ndary? :drunk:

    The OCD of home brewing.

a few small tips.. I work ina biology lab and sterility is a key factor in the work. Firstly, if your house (or work area) is clean enough to walk in without shoes then your chances of catching a "passing by" infection is pretty small. Second, it takes more than just a single (or few...
