    3 Roller Mega Mill Build

Really nice work there! But to be killjoy, I realized that bigger is not faster. I built one 2-roller mill with 60 mm rollers and 150 in length. I have yet not found any drive wheels that fit, so only driven on one roll. I found the crushing is easier with smaller rollers. BUT! Larger...

    45L batch brew machine

Long time, lots of modifications! These days I have a 52 gal system with a pressure fermenting tank. But I still use this small brewmachine frequently. Like small special brew batches. I now have a much bigger mash tun, that sits on top of the boiler kettle. I circulate the wort continously...

    Peltier cooled conical

I built a beer cooler, that can fit 2 corny kegs. 4 peltiers, 130W each, that I water cooled. I have a large 4mm aluminum plate that covers the whole back inside of the thing as a heat sink. I can get frost on that plate. But its hard to get rid of the heat. Everything has to go 100% all the...

    Automated bottling

Well, yes its a hand job most of it. For now. This build is a 3 step process. First step is like put one bottle at a time for filling, then move it by hand for capping. Next step is a conveyor to move the bottles from sanitation to bottling, automated by the PLC. Last step will be capping...

    Automated bottling

Things changed today dramaticly. I got a 32 channel PLC for free at work. So PLC it is. Its very easy to program, just to find out how many pulses for a 33 cl bottle. Then the rest is done with relays that are commanded from the PLC. Need to find two presure meters for the counter pressure...

    Automated bottling

I was thinking of one of these. I already use one with a simple plc and a solenoid from ali...

    Automated Bottling system

Interesting! But exactly how do i stop the flow then, when it reaches the vent tube? Im building all equipment my self, so thats why I ask. I wanna replicate big breweries in small 50 gallon style. i must have a sensor in the vent tube of some sort. I have already built a prototype with...

    Automated Bottling system

Hi! Im leaving this post here as well. Maybe more people in this section are interested. Im building an automated bottling system. The only hold up is really the flow meter. Im gonna use a hall effect flow sensor, but I think im gonna control it with arduino board. Or maybe its better to go...

    Automated bottling

Hi! Im building an automated bottling system. The only hold up is really the flow meter. Im gonna use a hall effect flow sensor, but I think im gonna control it with arduino board. Or maybe its better to go with a PLC to control all valves and the flowmeter? I dont know if its possible to...

    Starter for 55 gal batch?

Hi. How do i overcome the insane ammount of yeast? 50 packs without starter and 13 with a 10 gal starter.... I only brew lagers and use 3 dry packs for a 10 gal batch, and that works just fine. Now i have a little bigger equipment, 55 gal, and want to use the mexican yeast. Do i need to...

    Peltier kegerator

Yea! I would do that! AND fan inside. I think when I installed the fan, thats when my temp began to drop! Im currently down 15°C below the room temp. Sometimes lower. It varies between 5°C and 7°C when the room is about 21°C to23°C. Im happy, but maybe the watercooling is overkill. We are gonna...

    Peltier kegerator

Well... I now use this same ol damned pump but at what I think is 3.5 volts. Its what the computer supply give at the least? I got tired of the noise from the pump. But still im down lager temp here! So Either way, I won!!!!!

    Peltier kegerator

Just an update here for all the no sayers out there! Im constantly down to 40°F or like 4°C here now when I can keep it to 72°F/22°C inside! Wouldnt you call it in as a win?? I left this behind now and take on my next challenge. This one is not beer, but a racecar. I just need to do this...

Anybody have any tricks or ts for drilling a hockey puck???

I once drilled a puck for use as a starter wheel for a radio controlled car. I threaded it with 3/8 and just used a counter nut. It was tight as hell. That rubber is stable!

River Float 5L Mini Keg System

I used the same configuration for more than a year now. It works fine. But i took the easy way out and used vinyl tubing to go into the keg. Just strapped it on to the copper tubing. Havent discovered any taste difference to the same beers thats on the cory kegs. Cheap and easy

    Peltier kegerator

Im constantly down to 6°C/43°F now. On extreme warm days when tep in the room exeeds 27°C, it rises above 8°C. But when its only 25°C in the room, it stays at 6°C. So I think that it would be appropiate wit at least 5 peltiers for two kegs. We are gonna do a little project for 1 keg with only 3...
