    Changing pressures

So I've got my 2nd keg sitting on gas right now. My IPA was at 58F when I transfered to the keg. It's set at 11psi at 40F which should give me about 2.4vols of CO2. Now the questions.. 1) at my current temp and pressure it should take about 2 weeks to fully carb right? 2) I've also heard...

    Keg door won't seal...

Anyone ever have a cornie keg they couldn't get to hold pressure? Looks like 3 of the 4 donated kegs I have leak around the door. I replaced the door O-ring. First I tried 10psi and then 30psi. I've read other posts where people say flip the door around but that won't work on my pin-lock kegs...

    First time kegging carbonation questions

I kegged my first batch on Saturday. I'm going to be carbing at room temp(66-70F) since the only fridge I have I use as my fermentation chamber. I'm going for 2.5 vols CO2 and after checking a carb chart I figured that my pressure should be around 29psi. How long should I leave it at this high...

    a few kettle questions

I have two kegs ready for keggle conversion. One is a 1/2 barrel standard US keg with nothing done to it. The other is a Pilsner Urquell keg with some modifications. My questions are about the Urquell keg: 1)The keg holds 12gal of H2O comfortably. Is this big enough for 10gal batches? I...

Thinking of moving to a more seasonal approach to brewing. Gonna have some sort of APA or IPA year round along with Apfelwein or some variation of it. Belgians & Hefe's in the summer. Lagers in the fall, spring, & winter. I'm moving soon with a greater potential for temp control. Just thinking...

Do you sparge steeping grains in an extract brew?

Just bought BEER CAPTURED book by Tess & Mark Szamatulski. Seems like a great book for extract brewers(like myself) but I noticed that they sparge their steeping grains on every brew. I've made just 2 extract w/grains recipes and both times steeped at 150-160F for 30 mins. I just picked up the...
