I need to clarify a couple of batches of mead before bottling. I have to move, so I need to get the mead bottled, and it's too hazy for my liking. Waiting for it to settle is not an option. I have added sorbate and sulphites to a couple of batches. I have never used clarifying agents before. I ordered some kieselsol and chitosan and the chitosan says it contains sulphites. Since I have already added sulphite (1/4 ts to 5 gallons), will the addition of chitosan result in over-sulphiting? Any help is greatly appreciated.
