Ok so I have read these two yeasts are the same strain so would mixing them in a batch be ok to reach the desired cell count? I am brewing a 1.1 OG Barley Wine and Brewers Friend is telling me I need 990B cells, I have done a 2 step starter on my WLP-001 (2L then 4L) but am still short 400B cells. I have just washed some US-05 and captured about 600ml of slurry, if I mixed some of this US-05 slurry with my WLP-001, would the results be same as if I did a 3rd step on my WLP-001?

haven't done it personally, but i don't see why you couldn't or shouldn't.

They are the same strain. (perhaps isolated at different times, and very slightly different, but not enough to matter) Mix away.
