It's my first time using oxy-clean. Does it always bubble like crazy when you mix it, or does that indicate there's dirt/grime present? I'm saoking a carboy that was already cleaned with a different type of cleaner, and am curious if the reaction is telling me it was actually still dirty or not.

Thanks

When you first mix it there should be some rather quick action. This is the sodium percarbonate reacting with the water and degrading to peroxide. It does this faster in warm-hot (about 100F) water. After about 5 minutes it should settle out. If it is still bubbling this is the peroxide eating whatever is left in what you put it in.

After you get done keep in mind unless you used a bunch of it you will still need to sanitize it. Sodium percarbonate is simply a cleaner unless you add enough to act as a sanitizer.
