hey guys,

I was looking around for other sterilizers when i ran across this "Quats" stuff. I usually use the pink stuff (Diversol) but from what ive heard, quats is WAY better.

#1 Hospital grade sterilizer.
#2 NO RINSE nessesary!
#3 Very little quats is needed per liter of water (were talking like 2 cc's)

Ive notised that its expensive but basically lasts for just as long (if not longer than Diversol), for the same amount of total money spent on sterilizer. Plus its suppost to be better....

Any one use this stuff????

Ah, Quat.

It's been around a while, but you don't hear lots about it in homebrewing. I know many restraunts around this area use it.

Whatever floats your boat should work. I don't know enough about Quat to pass judgement on it.

In passing - don't confuse sterile with sanitary. Quat is not a sterilizer but a sanitizer. What is sterile is sanitary, but what is sanitary may very well NOT be sterile.

There is almost no way to get a sterile environment when homebrewing - even hospital-like conditions are rarely completely sterile. However, a clean, sanitary environment is sufficient since a healthy batch of yeast will overwhelm the few undesirable cells that migrate into your wort before it's sealed with an airlock.

ya, thank for pointing that out... i did mean sanitizer. :cross:

Regardless, ive heard that it works wonders for sanitizing bottles. Efficient, no rinse, potent....

no one uses it? Maybe ill try it out...
