I made a starter Tuesday night with some expired Wyeast kolsch yeast. Well, it FINALLY started to krausen today. Talk about a lag time. It was 1000ml of water with 100g of light DME. I haven't smelled it or anything yet, my g/f sent me a picture earlier. Do you think I should use it in my brew tomorrow?

In general, you should make a lower gravity starter (around 1.020) with yeast that has low viability then bump it up from there. You are probably ok with the one you made, but it may need to be stepped up.
