I bottled my APA 7 days ago. It was a bit of a disaster as the racking cane kept getting blocked with hops after about 4 gallons when racking to the bottling bucket. I lost about 15% of the batch because of this and therefore over-primed the beer because my calcs were based on 5 gallons.
Now after 7 days, when I hold the bottles up to the light it looks like there is a fine sand on the side of the bottles that is slowly sliding down the side of the bottles. I know that yeast settles out in the bottles but I can actually see this sediment move down the bottles. I don't recall seeing this with previous batches. Previously I just saw cloudy beer that settled out. Apart from the stuff that's stuck to the sides, the beer look pretty clear in the bottles. Any ideas what is going on ?
